Kitchens

Kitchens are the heart of the home where nourishment is found in gathering, preparing food, and sharing meals. The smooth Earthaus plaster finishes are able to withstand kitchen use because they are Olive Oil Soap sealed. Sealing protects and makes plaster finishes cleanable/ wipe-able. Care must be taken to ensure that kitchen plaster finishes are promptly cleaned after contact with select ingredients: See specific Plaster Finish's Care & Maintenance Guide for details.

Backsplashes

The subtle natural beauty of plastered backsplashes are a beautiful addition to a kitchen, but often there are concerns about lime plaster's durability and clean-ability in this area. The Tadelakt, Marble, and Stone Finishes are Olive Oil Soap sealed which make them wipeable and therefore suitable for backsplashes. For extra protection, a coat of Beeswax Protective Sealer is always an option.

Range Hoods & Range Surrounds

Range hoods are a popular choice for lime plaster. Suitable substrates for plastered range hoods and surrounds are level-4 finished drywall or cabinet-grade Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF). The Tadelakt, Marble, and Stone Finishes are Olive Oil Soap sealed and suitable range hoods and surrounds. For extra protection, a coat of Beeswax Protective Sealer is optional
